This year
marks the 70th anniversary of the victories of Chinese People's War of
Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascism War. We,
therefore, together with a number of collectors, celebrate it with an
exhibition of precious first-hand manuscripts born in the indelible war times.
Following the Exhibition of Treasures on Anti-Japanese War and Sino-US
Relations in cooperation with Fudan University earlier this year, we plan to
launch a public manuscript exhibition teamed up with East China Normal University,
i.e., Road to Rise: Exhibition of China’s Modern Diplomacy.
The
history of the resistance war against Japanese aggression is not only the
history of the rise of Chinese people, but also the history of our fervent
struggle against foreign nations, engagement in international communication and
constant exchanges with different civilizations in this century featuring
globalization. The causes and process of the war are closely bound up with the
humiliating diplomatic relations that lasted for over one century. Dating back
to China’s diplomacy since the Opium War in 1840, our exhibition will not only
cover the treasures in the war against Japanese aggression, but also focus on
key events and figures in China’s diplomacy, through which the audience will
perceive the war in a more tangible way and understand the modern history of
China deeply.
